While the Red Sox came out limping after their most recent series, Adrian Beltre and David Ortiz made sure a rash of injuries didn't slow down Boston's momentum.
The duo look to lead the Red Sox to a fourth straight victory this evening when they wrap a quick two-game set with the floundering Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park.

Red Sox, John Lackey earn 8-5 win over Rays on Tuesday night.
The Boston Red Sox won. The Tampa Bay Rays lost. Yadda. Yadda. Yadda. If you think I Yadda, Yadda, Yadda’d over the best part, I didn’t. At its core, Baseball is as simple as any other team sport; score more points, runs, or goals than your opponent and you will win. Yet, for this team it seems so complex.

Maybe he got the message?
B.J. Upton, who was benched tonight with thanks to his lollygagging on Sunday, didn’t just get a pinch hit tonight, but he stretched out a double into a triple with thanks to actual hustle.
It’s not clear if he will actually play with his mind on the game from now on. And his numbers reflect the fact he’s struggled. But for one at bat, we can see Upton for the star he was supposed to become.

Manager Joe Maddon said Upton was not benched, that him being out of the lineup today had nothing to do with him not hustling for a ball in left center Sunday.
Crawford said he played catch today and hit, with his shoulder feeling a lot better. He said the only true test will be playing outfield in a game.

A short series in Boston to start a six-game road trip sounds like fun -- especially considering the Rays have been in a month-long funk. Josh has the Rays at Red Sox series preview
