When the St. Louis Rams trade for Brandon Lloyd of the Denver Broncos, it created a little bit too much depth in their wide receiver position. They elected to cut Mike Sims-Walker, one of their bigger free agent acquisitions in the offseason. It didn't take Sims-Walker very long to find a new home, and it's a pretty familiar one according to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union. Sims-Walker has signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team that drafted him and with whom he spent the first three years of his career.
"Back to where it all begin but as a better Player and Man," Sims-Walker wrote in a post on his Twitter feed.
Sims-Walker's addition has to be good for the Jaguars who are hurting for help on the offensive side of the ball. Sims-Walker should give Blaine Gabbert another redzone target who has proven to be effective in the offense. As for Sims-Walker, things clearly weren't working out in St. Louis, so it might be a good opportunity for him to return to a team where he is more comfortable.
