This season hasn't exactly been going according to plan for the Florida St. Seminoles. They sit at just .500 overall and only 1-2 in Conference. that is the same conference opponent as their opponent this weekend, the Maryland Terrapins. So whichever wins this game will have a chance to get back in the race, while the loser will probably have to start thinking about 2012.
You probably already know what to expect from the Seminoles. If not, check out Tomahawk Nation for more information. We'll focus on the mystery team, the Maryland Terrapins. The Terps have had a very disappointing season under new coach Randy Edsall. They've already replaced last year's ACC Rookie of the Year Danny O'Brien with C.J. Brown, which totally changes the complexion of the team. Brown is very fast and is a run-first quarterback, pretty much the opposite of Danny O'Brien.
On Defense the Terps have been depleted by injuries this year. their star Kenny Tate has missed the last two games. They start five freshman including three linebackers. They can make some plays, but they lack depth and usually tire out before the end of the game. If the Seminoles can keep them on the field for long stretches of time, they should be able to have their way with them later in the contest.
The Seminoles should be the favorites in this one, and fairly easily. Maryland has some good players, but they can't match the talent, depth or athleticism that the Seminoles bring to the table. Despite this being his second start, C.J. Brown might be able to keep them in the game with his legs (similar to the Clemson game last week) but they are too thin everywhere else to pull this one out, in all likelihood.
