Maurice Jones-Drew Week 11 Fantasy Update: Jaguars Running Back Scores In Cleveland, But Held Under 100 Yards

Maurice Jones-Drew opened the scoring in Cleveland with a bang on Sunday, plowing into the end zone on a six yard run and then mocking the Cleveland fans, impersonating LeBron James's pregame chalk toss. It would be his only score of the game, however, as the Browns defense would only allow the Jags to score ten points all afternoon. MJD now has five touchdowns for the season.

Jones-Drew would finish with 87 yards on 21 carries, averaging just over 4 yards per carry against the Browns. Blaine Gabbert threw the ball 41 times on Sunday, just one shy of his season high as the Jags went away from the run after pounding it on the ground for most of the game last week in Indianapolis.

Jaguars Vs. Browns Score Update: Jacksonville Comes Up Short On Final Play Of Game, Falls 14-10 In Cleveland

The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to 3-7 on the year after losing 14-10 to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon. The Jaguars had an opportunity to win the game as time expired but a Blain Gabbert pass to Mike Thomas fell incomplete in the end zone. The Browns gave the Jags plenty of opportunities to win in on their final drive but the Jags, who have the fewest red zone touchdowns in the league, were unable to convert.

The Browns gave Jacksonville a first down on fourth and one when Cleveland defensive tackle Phil Taylor jumpedoffsides. Later in the drive, Jacksonville moved the ball inside Cleveland's 30 after a Joe Haden pass interference call. The Jags would move the ball to the five yard line, but wasted valuable time after two Maurice Jones-Drew runs put them just a yard short of the winning touchdown. With 8 seconds left, Gabbert's two incompletions would stall the drive at the one yard line and end the game.

The go-ahead opportunity was set up by a Phil Dawson missed field goal for Cleveland. The ball appeared to go over the top of the upright and was definitely a toss-up call, but the referees ruled in Jacksonville's favor, giving the Jags the ball back with a chance to win it. But Gabbert would come up short. The rookie QB finished 22 of 41 with 210 yards on the day. He managed the game nicely again and avoided the big mistake, throwing no interceptions. The Browns, however, were led by third string running back Chris Ogbonnaya who rushed for 115 yards in the win.

Jaguars Vs. Browns Score Update: Cleveland Takes 14-7 Lead In Fourth Quarter

The Cleveland Browns took a 14-7 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Colt McCoy connected with Josh Cribbs on a three yard touchdown pass to take the seven point lead. The touchdown capped a 12 play, 85 yard drive by the Browns. The drive was controlled by McCoy, who hit multiple receivers for 10-15 yard gains and scrambled for positive yardage when he could not find receivers open down field. McCoy is 15 of 22 for 187 yards so far, as the Jags have shut down the Browns running game, which is without Peyton HIllis and Montario Hardesty.

Both the Browns and Jags are looking for their fourth win of the season as they look to close it out in the fourth quarter.

Jaguars Vs. Browns Score Update: Jacksonville And Cleveland Tied 7-7 At Halftime

After one half of play at Cleveland Browns Stadium, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns are tied at 7-7. The Jaguars got on the board first when Maurice Jones-Drew finished an impressive 18 play, 92 yard drive with a 6 yard touchdown run. The drive took up nearly 10 minutes of game clock as the Jags took it the length of the field. Jones-Drew has already carried the ball 13 times for 54 yards.

The Browns evened the score later in the second quarter when Chris Ogbonnaya converted a one yard touchdown run. Ogbonnaya is filling in for the injured Montario Hardesty and Peyton HIllis. The Jags have managed to control the third-stringer, holding him to less than two yards a carry so far. Aside from one big play, a Colt McCoy 51 yard pass to Jordan Norwood, the Jags defense has looked good against Cleveland's anemic offense.

Jacksonville will get the kick off to start the second half.

Blaine Gabbert Fantasy Projection: Jaguars Quarterback Looks To Progress Against Browns

The Jaguars travel to Cleveland today to face a struggling Browns game on the windy shores of Lake Erie. After managing the game last week in Indianapolis, Blaine Gabbert and the Jags offense will look for their second straight road win. While the Browns may be struggling in the standings, they currently have the number one ranked pass defense in the entire league - setting up a less than ideal scenario for Gabbert from a fantasy perspective.

NumberFire.com currently projects Gabbert with just 7.52 fantasy points in Week 11 against the Browns. The Jags should throw a heavy dose of Maurice Jones-Drew against the Browns on Sunday, keeping the ball on the ground and letting Gabbert manage the game.

Maurice Jones-Drew Fantasy Projection: Jaguars Running Back Looking For Big Day In Cleveland

The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Cleveland this Sunday to face a lowly Browns team coming off a home loss to the St. Louis Rams. Fantasy owners should expected the Jags to throw a heavy dose of running back Maurice Jones-Drew at the Browns defense all afternoon. The Browns have one of the higher ranked pass defenses in the league, which, combined with rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert, should result in a big day of carries for Jones-Drew.

NumberFire.com currently projects Jones-Drew with 16.07  fantasy points in Week 11 against the Browns. After a 25 carry day against the Colts last week, expect the Jags to pound the rock with Jones-Drew once again this Sunday in Cleveland.

Jaguars Vs. Browns Injury Report: Jacksonville Defense Takes Hit With Aaron Kampman, Terrance Knighton Inactive

The Jacksonville Jaguars attempt to win their second consecutive road game took a hit Sunday, when defensive lineman Aaron Kampman and Terrance Knighton were listed as inactive for the Jaguars 1:00 PM matchup against the Cleveland BrownsVia Jacksonville's official team twitter feed:

Jaguars inactives: Brian Robiskie, Brock Bolen, John Estes, Aaron Kampman, Cecil Shorts III, Fendi Onobun, Terrance Knighton

It was already know that Knighton would not play Sunday, but the loss of Kampman was a surprise blow. The former Buffalo Bill was listed as doubtful on the week's injury report, but he had hoped to play against the Browns despite missing Friday's practice.

The Browns official twitter feed has also just released their inactives list for the matchup with the Jaguars. The Browns will be without their top two running backs on Sunday, Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty.

#Browns inactives vs. Jaguars: QB T. Lewis, RB M. Hardesty and P. Hillis, DB T. Ward, OL S. Vallos and O. Cousins and TE J. Cameron.

Jaguars Injury Report, Week 11: Defensive Line Banged Up As Jacksonville Aims For Second Road Win In As Many Weeks Against Browns This Sunday In Cleveland

The Jacksonville Jaguars look to get just their second road win of the year (the first came last weekend in Indianapolis) when they face the Browns in Cleveland Sunday afternoon. At 3-6, the Jaguars chances at catching Houston are slim, but with Matt Schaub out indefinitely with a foot injury, not to mention the Texans' history of finding new and amazing ways to miss the playoffs, it's not inconceivable that either Jacksonville or Tennessee chases them down in the AFC South. Doing so would require a win in Week 11 against the Browns though. And from the looks of their injury report this week, they'll need guys to step up and make contributions that perhaps aren't used to being relied upon on this stage.

Aaron Kampan (hamstring) and Terrance Knighton (ankle) were the lone players to miss Friday's practice. Knighton has been ruled out for the second week in a row. Kampan is listed as doubtful, but he might give it a shot at least on Sunday because of the mounting injuries along the defensive line. The former Buffalo Bills star has yet to register a single tackle in the three games he's appeared in this season.

Brian Robiskie is listed as questionable after being limited in practice all three days this week. The third-year wide receiver out of Ohio State has not played since being claimed off wavers from the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago. He sat out last week's game with a nagging hamstring and has not played since Week 6 when still with the Browns. We'll see if he's able to finally get back out on the field with his new Jaguars teammates this Sunday.

Questionable: RB/FB Brock Bolen (calf), WR Brian Robiskie (hamstring)

Probable: DE John Chick (abdomen), WR Cecil Shorts III (hamstring)

Doubtful: DE Aaron Kampman (hamstring)

Out: DT Terrance Knighton (ankle)

Week 11 NFL Lines And Odds: Jaguars Vs. Browns Predicted To Be Close

The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6) look to continue their winning ways this Sunday, Nov. 20, when they visit the struggling Cleveland Browns (3-6). The Jaguars have won two of their last three outings, including an upset of the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football three weeks ago.

In the same span, the Browns have lost their last three games, failing to score more than 12 points in any of them. And prior to their losing streak, they managed a 6-3 victory against the Seattle Seahawks. The team is woeful offensively, averaging 14.6 points per game. That's actually better than Jacksonville's average (12.8 points per game), but the Browns regressed of late, whereas the Jaguars have improved.

Given the clubs' identical records and shared offensive ineptitude, it's no surprise the oddsmakers believe this game will be a close one. According to SB Nation partner OddsShark, the Jaguars opened the week as 1.5-point underdogs, but some outlets have the game as a pick 'em, some favor the Browns by one point, and another favors Jacksonville by one point.

Browns Injury Report, Week 11: Tony Pashos, Mohamed Massaquoi Limited In Thursday Practice, Jayme Mitchell Sits Out For Personal Reasons

After a promising 2-1 start to the season, the Cleveland Browns have been mired in a major rut as of late. The Browns have lost three straight and five of their past six to fall to 3-6 on the season heading into their Week 1 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Browns have been particularly woeful offensively, having scored just 57 points during the past four weeks, and only once this season have they scored more than 17 points.

In Sunday's home game against the Jaguars, the Browns might be without several key offensive players. On Thursday, RB Montario Hardesty ran outside while the rest of the Browns team worked indoors. Hardesty has been nursing a calf injury that's kept him out of the lineup the past two weeks. He's listed as questionable for Week 11, but is a safe bet to play provided he doesn't experience any setbacks Friday.

WR Mohamed Massaquoi is also expected to play Sunday after missing Week 10 with a recurrence of concussion like symptoms originally sustained in Week 7. Massaquoi was limited in practice Thursday for the second day in a row, as coaches and doctors on the Browns' staff cautiously work him back into the fold.

Along the offensive line, Tony Pashos took snaps with the first team offense at right tackle on Thursday. Artis Hicks had assumed those duties during Wednesday's practice. Pashos has a sore ankle that has not prevented him from starting or playing recently, but he was extremely limited on Wednesday to start the week.

On defense, DL Jayme Mitchell missed Thursday's practice for non-injury related reasons. Coach Pat Shurmur noted before practice that Mitchell would be ready to play Sunday. His absence was due to personal reasons according to a statement issued by a team spokesman.

Jaguars Injury Update: Terrance Knighton To Miss Browns Game With Ankle Injury

Terrance Knighton is still on the mend from a deep ankle bruise that caused him to miss the game against the Colts last week, and according to Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union, it will cause Knighton to miss the game against the Browns this weekend as well.

Knighton said he saw a specialist who told him the injury could get worse if aggravated. Knighton, who didn’t practice Wednesday, said he can move straight ahead, but feels a sharp pain when he turns on the ankle. He also noted the Jaguars have a capable backup in C.J. Mosley. “It’s not like I have to sacrifice myself because there’s nobody who can play the position. I’m more comfortable staying out knowing that C.J. is in there,” the third-year tackle said.

Knighton hasn't made very much of a statistical impact on the season, but he does provide a good amount of depth on the defensive line that will be difficult to replace, no matter how good C.J. Mosley is.

NFL Picks: Jaguars Vs. Browns A True Pick 'Em

The Jacksonville Jaguars will head to Cleveland this weekend to take on the Browns. For some expert analysis on this game, including where you should put your money if you're into that kind of thing, let's check out some outside picks. The first, from our partners at OddsShark.

Jacksonville beat the league's worst team on the road last week and gets arguably the second worst in Week 11. The Jaguars visit Cleveland and they are 4-1 SU lifetime at the Dawg Pound. The Browns have scored 40 points TOTAL in their past four games and this one reeks of UNDER potential. The under is 6-1 the past 7 games when Cleveland is an NFL underdog.

Next from the Mothership, the guys at SB Nation.

The Maurice Jones-Drew led Jaguars have actually won two of their last three games, but considering last week's game was a victory over the winless (and Peyton Manning-less) Indianapolis Colts, that should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt when deciding which team to bet on this week. The Browns opened the week as 1½ point favorites, but the news that running back Peyton Hillis will be inactive has likely influenced that line as it is now a pick'em for most outlets. Odds Shark's excellent database shows that while the odds are even at most sites, there are a few offering one point to both teams as of Thursday morning.

Finally, via Vegas Sports Betting. After this analysis, they pick the Jaguars.

Expect a low-scoring affair as the defenses will take over and the head coaches will look to protect their young quarterbacks. The Browns may be able to exploit a Jacksonville secondary without Mathis, but the Jaguars have more at the back end than Mathis. If the Browns’ defense has a weakness, it’s that they’re 30th against the run, so look for Jones-Drew to have a field day on Sunday as the Jaguars pick up another win against the online betting spread.

Browns Injury Report: T.J. Ward Out, Montario Hardesty Doubtful

The Cleveland Browns got to the practice field today to prepare for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Browns are a bit banged up. Running back Peyton Hillis has already been declared out with a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for much of the season. Back up running back Montario Hardesty missed practice dealing with a calf injury and his status has already been deemed as "doubtful" by Browns head coach Pat Shurmur. Defensive back T.J. Ward, who picked off former Jaguars quarterback David Garrard twice in last season's meeting has also been declared out with a foot injury.

The Browns had six other players that practiced in a limited capacity today:

Auston EnglishMohamed Massaquoi, Jayme Mitchell, Tony Pashos, Dimitri Patterson, and Jabaal Sheard

Defensive back Usama Young returned to practice in full today.

Jaguars Injury Report: Three Defensive Lineman Miss Practice

The Jacksonville Jaguars began practice in preparation of the Cleveland Browns today, but they were without three of their defensive lineman. Starting defensive tackle Terrance Knighton missed practice dealing with an ankle injury he suffered two weeks ago against the Houston Texans. Knighton told reporters after practice he wasn't likely going to play on Sunday. Defensive ends Aaron Kampman and John Chick both also did not practice. Kampman suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of last weeks game. Chick came back against the Colts after missing the game against the Texans, but now has an abdominal injury.

Three other players were limited today. Newly claimed wide receiver and former Brown Brian Robiskie was limited with a hamstring, as well as rookie wide receiver Cecil Shorts III. Fullback Brock Bolen returned to practice today, but only in a limited capacity. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, fullback Greg Jones, and defensive tackle Tyson Alualu all missed practice, but it was not injury related. Greg Jones specifically was attending a memorial service for his late distant cousin, boxing great Joe Frazier.

Peyton Hillis Injury: Browns RB Ruled Out For Sunday

When the Jacksonville Jaguars travel to take on the Cleveland Browns, they will not need to worry about running back Peyton Hillis. Hillis has already been ruled out of this Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. Hillis has been dealing with the issue nearly all season and re-aggravated it recently. The Browns are now down to their third running back, as back Montario Hardesty is presumed to be doubtful.

Last season when these two teams met, the Jaguars didn't allow Hillis to do much rushing the football, as he had just 48 yards on 21 carries, but he did hurt them catching the football out of the backfield. In the 2010 match up, Hillis had 95 receiving yards, including a 47-yard touchdown.

Terrance Knighton Injury: Jaguars DT Will Likely Miss Vs. Browns

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton injured his ankle a few weeks ago in the Jaguars loss to the Houston Texans. Last week, Knighton revealed that if the Jaguars didn't have a bye week and had a game, he'd have missed it because of the severity of the injury. Knighton was limited in practice all last week and was inactive against the Indianapolis ColtsAccording to John Oesher, editor of Jaguars.com, Knighton will likely miss this week's game as well.

Knighton expressed concern that he would likely not be ready to go against the Browns after practice today. Knighton, who was a third round pick by the Jaguars in the 2009 NFL Draft had started every game in his career up until last week. Missing Knighton in the middle will hurt, but the Cleveland Browns are dealing with their own injuries at running back.
