According to a report in the Fort Myers News-Press, Pender was arrested by Cape Coral police Tuesday after an apparent argument between he and his on-again, off-again girlfriend that morning. A police report indicates that during the dispute that took place inside her car, he hit her with a right backhand before asking her to give him the keys and get out.

The 6-foot, 185 pound running back committed to Florida State in October of 2010. Prior to his arrest, Pender was expected to be on the sidelines when the red-hot Seminoles take on the Virginia Cavaliers Saturday afternoon at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.
