The Florida Gators coasted to a thirteen point win on Monday night in a non conference win over the Wright State Raiders. Playing in Tampa at the St. Pete Times Forum, Billy Donovan's squad raced out to a 15 point halftime lead and went into cruise control in the second half.
The Gators were led by the outstanding guard duo of Brad Beal and Kenny Boynton, who each poured in 22 points a piece. Beal did much of his scoring by getting into the lane and getting to the line, hitting 9 of 11 free throws. Boynton, on the other hand, was hot from outside as he launched nine three pointers alone, hitting 6 of them for a majority of his 22 points. The Gators third starting guard, Erving Walker, added 7 assists, facilitating the offense all night. Even reserve guard Mike Rosario got into the action, hitting two three pointers off the bench and contributing 11 points.
Florida improved to 3-1 on the season. They continue their schedule against another overmatched non conference foe, hosting the Jacksonville Dolphins on Friday at the O'Connell Center.
