Report: Former Florida Head Coach Urban Meyer Agrees To Deal With Ohio State

Urban Meyer is expected to become the next head coach at Ohio State.

Scout's Bill Greene reports that former Florida Gators Head Coach Urban Meyer, who retired after last season due to health and family reasons, has agreed to a deal with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Meyer is expected to officially accept the deal after Ohio State's game against Michigan on Saturday, November 26th.

Meyer, who began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Ohio State, has yet to confirm the deal.

Meyer won two BCS National Championships at Florida, defeated Ohio State in the 2007 game. Two years later, Urban again led the Gators to the national championship when they beat Oklahoma 24-14.

Meyer initially retired following the 2009 season when he was hospitalized after Florida's loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship game, only to come back for the 2010 season. In 2010, the Gators went 8-5, including an Outback Bowl victory over Penn State.

In a recent interview with the Gainesville Sun, Meyer denied reports that a deal had been reached with Ohio State, but did say "if something happens with Ohio State, I'll have a decision to make."
