Lightning trail Flyers 1-0 After Second Period

Stay connected for news and updates

The Tampa Bay Lightning had too many penalties in the second period. Although they killed off two back-to-back penalties, the Flyers were able to capitalize on the third power play opportunity they had in the period when Scott Hartnell tipped in a shot at 8:34 of second period, putting the Flyers ahead 1-0.

The number one concern for the Lightning coming in to this game was the play of their defense, which has really showcased an improved effort on the blue-line tonight. There haven’t been too many turnovers and Tampa Bay has only allowed the Flyers to muster up three shots in the second period.
