Nets Vs. Magic: Dwight Howard Dominates With 24 Rebounds And Orlando Improves To 2-1 With Home Win Over New Jersey

The Orlando Magic defeated the New Jersey Nets 94-78 at Amway Arena on Thursday night. Playing the team with which he has been linked to in rampant trade rumors, Dwight Howard put on a show in the paint, cleaning up on the glass and finishing with 24 rebounds. Howard was dominant against an overmatched New Jersey front line, playing without the injured Brook Lopez. Kris Humphries, one of the league's best rebounders in his own right, offered little resistance to Howard.

Orlando's All-Star center led all Magic players with a +23 while on the floor. He was helped in the frontcourt by Ryan Anderson, who continued his hot shooting from outside against the Nets. He was three of five from behind the arc and finished with a team high 22 points. The Magic were impressive on the defensive end against one of the league's worst teams. Deron Williams was a woeful two for 12 from the floor and was held to just ten points.

The Magic will now head out on the road to face the Charlotte Bobcats on the second night of a back-to-back.

Nets Vs. Magic Score Update: Dwight Howard Dominant On The Glass As Orlando Takes 13 Point Lead Into Fourth Quarter

After three quarters at Amway Arena, the Orlando Magic lead the New Jersey Nets 75-62. Amid rampant Dwight Howard to New Jersey trade rumors, the All Star center has dominated on the glass, pulling down 19 rebounds in addition to 13 points. Howard is a team best +18 so far tonight. Jason Richardson is having his best game of the young season as well, pouring in 16 points thus far. Ryan Anderson has also added 15 points, hitting three from downtown.

Through three quarters, the Magic have held Deron Williams in check as one of the league's best point guards has struggled shooting, going one for eight from the field. The Nets are expected to be one of the worst teams in the East, and with Williams struggling, the Magic must close them out in the fourth quarter at home.
