Champs Sports Bowl: Florida State Celebrates Too Hard For The Stage After Win

Stay connected for news and updates

Florida State won the Champs Sports Bowl in pretty exciting and dramatic fashion over Notre Dame on Thursday, scoring 18 points in the fourth quarter to earn a comeback win. So you can understand why they might have been pretty excited during the celebration after the game. They just happened to be a little bit too excited for the infrastructure of the celebration area.

While E.J. Manuel was talking to ESPN about his teammates after the game, the stage that those teammates were celebrating on buckled and turned into a mangled piece of metal. Luckily it was just about a foot tall riser so there were no injuries, except for maybe the pride of the structural engineer who assured the Champs Sports Bowl people that his stage could support an enormous football team. How can you forget to account to the pads?

You can check out the video of the collapse from the Orlando Sentinel.
