Bucs, Mark Dominik agree on 4 year extension

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and General Manager Mark Dominik have come to an agreement on a four year contract extension. Domink has been with the team for 16 years and will likely see at least 20 years with the team if he finishes out this contract extension. Originally a member of the Player Personnel Department, Domink has risen the ranks to become General Manager, succeeding Bruce Allen after he was fired in 2008.

Dominik was widely panned in his first few months as General Manager, particularly for his signing of Derrick Ward and re-signing of Michael Clayton. He quickly righted the ship and will most likely be noted as the guy who pulled the trigger on the trade-and-draft of quarterback Josh Freeman.

Dominik's legacy is still unfinished and will hinge on the continued development of Freeman, as well as 2010 first round pick Gerald McCoy.
