Jaguars Vs. Colts Final Score: Maurice Jones-Drew Breaks Records En Route To 19-13 Jags Win

The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in the final game of the regular season. The Colts were searching for their first road win of the season, while the Jags were attempting to improve to .500 at home. In the end, strong Jaguars defense and the talented foot of Josh Scobee allowed the Jacksonville squad to come away with the 19-13 win.

The Jaguars scored their only touchdown of the game in the first quarter on a 23-yard pass from Blaine Gabbert to Chastin West. After that touchdown, the two teams would trade field goals by Adam Vinatieri and Josh Scobee for the bulk of the game.

The Jaguars entered the fourth quarter holding a 19-6 lead after Scobee nailed four field goals throughout the game, from 25, 32, 47 and 39 yards, respectively. The Colts would finally find the end zone in the final minutes of the game as Dan Orlovsky hooked up with Austin Collie for a touchdown pass to cut the lead to 19-13, but that is where the score would stay. Orlovsky put together some decent numbers, finishing the game 27-for-40 with 264 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also threw a pair of interceptions.

The most notable numbers of the day belonged to Jags running back Maurice Jones-Drew. He finished the game with 169 yards on 25 carries, including a long of 56. The yardage makes him the new single-season record holder for rushing yards in the history of the Jaguars franchise and puts him over the top to ensure he will finish the season as the NFL leader in rushing yards.

The Jaguars finish the 2011 NFL season with a 5-11 record, going 4-4 at home. The Colts wind up with a 2-14 record, including a punchless 0-8 on the road.

Jaguars Vs. Colts Score Update: Maurice Jones-Drew Breaks Jacksonville Single Season Rushing Record As Jaguars Take 16-6 Lead Into Final Quarter

The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. Both teams are hoping to finish their 2011 season on a winning note following a disappointing year.

The big news from the quarter is that Maurice Jones-Drew broke the single-season rushing record for the Jaguars team franchise. He also figures to be the rushing leader for the NFL this season, since LeSean McCoy was deactivated by the Eagles prior to their Week 17 game. Jones-Drew has over 140 yards in the game and over 1,500 on the season. Even more impressive is that if Jones-Drew ends up being the season rushing leader, he will do so while playing on a team that ranked last in the NFL in offensive yardage.

The Colts and Jaguars traded field goals in the third quarter. Adam Vinatieri of the Colts kicked a 20-yard field goal early in the quarter, his second of the game, to close the gap to 10-6. The Jags got those three points back midway through the quarter on a 32-yard field goal by Josh Scobee. Scobee would later add another field goal, his third of the game, from 47 yards out to push the Jaguars lead to 16-6.

Jaguars Vs. Colts Score Update: Defense Stays Strong As Jags Take 10-3 Lead Into Halftime

The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting the Indianapolis Colts in the final week of the NFL season. Both teams are showing strong defense early on, with significant drives being halted on both sides.

The Colts had started a drive at the tail end of the first quarter. They continued that drive into the second quarter, with Dan Orlovsky leading Indianapolis 54 yards downfield on 14 plays. The Colts ended up having to settle for a 48-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri to cut the Jags lead to 7-3.

On the following Jacksonville possession, quarterback Blaine Gabbert was sacked, leading to a fumble that was recovered by the Colts in Jags territory. The Jaguars answered back with a big stop of Delone Carter on 4th and 1 to force a turnover on downs and take over once again. They went three and out on that possession and were forced to punt.

The Jags were able to put together another deep drive late in the second quarter, getting into the Indianapolis red zone with less than 2:00 left in the half. They were once again stopped on third down and opted for a field goal to extend their lead to 10-3, which is where things stand at halftime.

Jaguars Vs. Colts Score Update: Jaguars Lead 7-0 After First Quarter

The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting the Indianapolis Colts in the final week of the regular season. The Colts have turned things around in the past couple of weeks and are attempting to end the season on a more positive note with a win on the first day of 2012. The Jaguars are also hoping to close out their season with a big home win.

The Jaguars broke out a long drive in the first quarter that took them right to the edge of the Indianapolis goal line. They attempted a touchdown run on third and fourth downs, but were turned away by a surprisingly tough Colts defense.

The Jags were able to force the Colts to punt in short order, however. On their next possession, the Jacksonville squad managed a six-play scoring drive that took just over three minutes, culminating in a 23-yard touchdown pass from Blaine Gabbert to Chastin West for a 7-0 Jaguars lead.
