Florida State looks to bounce back after tough opening ACC loss to Clemson.
The Florida State men's basketball (9-6) team travels to Blacksburg, Virginia tonight to square off against the Hokies of Virginia Tech (11-6). Both teams will be looking for their first ACC win of the season as FSU lost to Clemson 79-59, and VT lost to Wake Forest 58-55 to open the ACC schedule on Saturday.
Erick Green, the 6-4 junior poiint gaurd leads the Hokies in points (15.7ppg) and assists (3.4apg), while Dorian Finney-Smith is their top big man with 8.1 rpg. Virginia Tech also relies on Dorenzo Hudson (11.5ppg) and Jarell Eddie (5.0rpg).
Florida State will most likely try and run their offense through their guards against Virginia Tech, so look for big games from Michael Snaer, Jeff Peterson, Luke Loucks, and Devidas Dulkys.
Florida State basketball fans are used to their team putting together a poor offensive showing, but their defense usually at least comes close to making up for it. This wasn't the case on Saturday, as the Noles played uninspired ball and lacked hustle on both sides of the ball for most of the game. The Seminoles did not look like the team that made a Sweet 16 appearance last season, as they are missing the presence of Chris Singleton (NBA) and Terrence Shannon (injury). FSU fans should hope to see the team come out tonight trying to make up for their performance Saturday.
The game airs at 7pm Est on ESPNU.
Prediction: VT 62-59. Until FSU prooves they can put together a complete game, I will have to continue to pick against them.
