Brad Beal hit four three-pointers and grabbed ten rebounds as the Gators cruised to a 70-48 win over Georgia.
The Florida Gators bounced back from their loss to Tennessee this weekend with a dominating win over Georgia to even their record at 1-1 in conference play. Freshman sensation Brad Beal, who's been struggling from the field recently, led the Gators with 17 points and was four of six from behind the arc. Beal has proved to be a key rebounder for the Gators from his backcourt spot, and he added ten boards against the Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
Kenny Boynton matched Beal with 17 points but it was a strong defensive effort that kept this one a comfortable for the Gators. Georgia shot just 36 percent from the floor as they lost for the fifteenth time in that past seventeen meetings between these two rivals. The Dawgs were also just one of nine from the free throw line as the Gators cruised to the twenty-two point win.
Florida moves on, looking to improve to 2-1 in the SEC on the road against South Carolina this weekend.
