The Florida Gators rolled over the UAB Blazers in their final non-conference game before SEC play tips off this weekend in Knoxville. The Gators caught fire from behind the arc on Tuesday night to topple the Blazers 79-61 at the O'Connell Center. They shot better than 55% from outside. Erving Walker led all scorers with 23 points, with almost all of it coming from three-point range. He was seven of nine from downtown, and was on fire for the full forty minutes. Backcourt-mate Kenny Boynton added 20 points, as he hit six of his ten attempts from three.
It wasn't all long-range bombing, as Patric Young was effective against UAB on the interior. Young finished with 15 points and seven rebounds in a relative walkover. Brad Beal was the only starter who really struggled, going just two of 15 from the floor and scoring only five points.
Florida remained a perfect 9-0 at home but will now head out on the road this Saturday to start conference play against the Tennessee Volunteers.
