Florida State Vs. Clemson: Seminoles Begin Conference Play With 20-Point Loss To Tigers

The Florida State Seminoles (9-6, 0-1) had a rough start to Atlantic Coast Conference play Saturday night, losing to Clemson (9-6, 1-0) by the score of 79-59 at Littlejohn Coliseum. Florida State was down for the count early, allowing a 20-0 run in the first half that, combined with their lack of shooting prowess, meant a long night for Leonard Hamilton's team.

The Seminoles, normally one of the nation's best defensive ballclubs, allowed the Tigers to shoot 49 percent from the field. Clemson made 24 field goals in the game, 17 of which were layups or dunks. It was the Tiger's second highest scoring output of the season.

Offensively, Florida State was held to 35.5 percent shooting and leading scorer Michael Snaer scored just seven points, half of his season average. The Seminoles also committed 16 turnovers.

Clemson was lead offensively by guard Andre Young, who scored 18 points, and forward Milton Jennings who chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds.
