The Jaguars franchise has issues from top to bottom, writes Big Cat Country.

Sunday's Jacksonville Jaguars game was the fourth consecutive loss of the year for the seemingly-hapless Jags, prompting SB Nation Jags blog Big Cat Country to start asking some of the bigger questions following the 27-10 loss to the Bengals. According to BCC, it starts with the front office first:

The staff has seemingly failed at accumulating "the best players".

The easy notion is to pin Gene Smith's failures on second-year quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who despite some improvement, still hasn't been much more than mediocre on the football field. Gabbert was atrocious during his rookie season in 2011 and is just slightly better during the 2012 season. While Gabbert hasn't been great, he certainly hasn't been terrible, but when you draft a quarterback in the Top 10 of the draft he needs to be more than "not terrible" in his second season.

While there's nothing but worry surrounding the Jags, the Bengals are on solid ground at 3-1, Cincy Jungle writes, and did what it had to win the must-wins and keep pace with Pittsburgh and Baltimore:

The defense rose to the occasion Sunday, as they stifled the Jaguars passing and rushing games, so we started to look on that side of the ball. Defensive tackle Geno Atkins had two more sacks on the day, bringing his total to five through the first four games. He was a dominant player last season and it appears that he's making a push for the Pro Bowl once again.
