Buccaneers vs. Chiefs: Tampa Bay aims to end 3-game skid

Matt Stamey-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, looking for their first win since Week 1.

When the 1-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet the 1-4 Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, both teams will be looking to end losing streaks. The Chiefs have lost two straight, and Tampa Bay hasn't won since Week 1.

For the Buccaneers, running the football has proven to be a difficult task this season. Tampa Bay ranks 23rd in the NFL with an average of 91 yards per game. But as SB Nation's Bucs blog, Bucs Nation, points out, running may be a bit easier against Kansas City:

The good news is the Bucs' 23rd ranked rushing attack will be facing the Chiefs 22nd ranked run defense. Opponents went over 100 yds rushing in three of the Chiefs five games, including a 201 yd performance by the Buffalo Bills.

Kansas City has been victimized by big runs. If Doug Martin or LeGarrette Blount can get to the second level - there is some gridiron gold to be had.

While the running game may work well for Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers' biggest advantage will likely be in pass defense. With quarterback Matt Cassel injured, the Chiefs will start Brady Quinn. The writers at Bucs Nation don't seem to be too intimidated by KC's choice at QB:

Still, it's Brady Quinn. He's more likely to hit Captain Fear on a deep route than Dwayne Bowe.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium, and the game will be televised by CBS. For more Buccaneers vs. Chiefs analysis, be sure to check out Bucs Nation's Big Darn Preview.
