Not surprisingly, the Miami Heat are off to a fast start in the 2012-13 NBA season. LeBron James and his mates are 5-1 after two weeks of basketball, pacing the Southeast Division by two full games over the Atlanta Hawks, who sit at 2-2.

Miami is winning its games by an average of 9.5 points, second only to perhaps the biggest surprise in basketball.

The New York Knicks were expected to be a playoff team, they just weren't expected to dominate. With Amar'e Stoudemire out and Carmelo Anthony playing power forward, the Knicks have cruised to 4-0, earning the distinction as the only undefeated team left in the NBA.

New York has won all of its game by double-figures, including Friday's 104-94 grinder over the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaking of surprises, the Los Angeles Lakers are just 2-4 and have already fired their now ex-head coach Mike Brown. L.A. struggled out of the blocks, but beat the Golden State Warriors in their first game under interim head coach Bernie Bickerstaff.
