The Heat are just percentage points back of first place in the East.
The Miami Heat are 9-3 and in a virtual tie with the New York Knicks for first place in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks are narrowly ahead in win percentage, but Miami made up ground this week as New York suffered its first two losses.
The Heat are two games ahead in the Atlantic Division. Charlotte and Atlanta are tied at 6-4.
Orlando has struggled out of the gate, dropping seven of its first 11 games. The Magic have had troubles on the road, where they are just 1-5 this year.
Milwaukee is the third Eastern division leader, and the only team in the Central to have a winning record. They are 6-4, which ties them with the Hawks, Bobcats and Nets for the third-best record in the East.
Memphis leads the Western Conference by percentage points over Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Those three are followed closely by the Clippers.
