The Gators put the clamps down on Central Florida, continuing their undefeated start.
The No. 7 Florida Gators showed up and took care of business Friday night against the Central Florida Knights, winning 79-66 at home.
Kenny Boynton led the way for Florida (5-0) with 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting to go with his eight rebounds. Scottie Wilbekin also had a terrific night coming off the bench. The reserve guard tallied 17 points, eight assists and five rebounds in the win.
The Knights (3-2) had plenty of production from their starting five, with four in double-digits. Unfortunately for Central Florida, its bench didn't register a single point. Kasey Wilson was the high-scorer for his team with 20 points, while Isaiah Skyes had a nice all-around game with 12 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Longwood 86, Florida A&M 83 (OT): The Rattlers (0-5) came up short in a hotly contested affair at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The game was tight the whole way, with a good old fashion shootout taking place between Longwood's Triston Casey and Florida A&M's Jamie Adams. Casey poured in 30 points to lead the Lancers (1-4) in victory, while Adams scored 26 in defeat.
Rider 86, Jacksonville 71: The Broncs (3-3) were able to lead throughout the contest, beating the Dolphins handily by the end. Rider was given a boost by Anthony Miles who scored 23 points to lead all scorers. Jacksonville (2-4) was paced by Glenn Powell and Keith McDougald, who had 22 and 20 points respectively.
