Children's Miracle Network Classic 2012 preview: PGA season comes to an end this weekend

Davis Love III is one of 128 golfers who will participate in the season's final PGA Tour event this season, the Children's Miracle Network Classic.

The PGA Tour's 2012 season will officially come to a close this weekend, as the tour's final event of the season, the 2012 Children's Miracle Network Classic tournament will get underway on Thursday, Nov. 8, and conclude on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Many golfers in the 128-man field will have their sights set on a top 70 finish, and an exemption into the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational, while others will merely look to retain their Tour Card by cracking the top 125 on the Tour's money list.

The Children's Miracle Network Classic will utilize two courses – but both courses have a par score of 72. Disney's Magnolia and Palm golf clubs are host to the tournament, and each golfer will get one round on the Palm course prior to the cut – the easier of the two courses. Per Rob Bolton, Magnolia's average score in 2011 was 71.3, while Palm's average score in 2011 was 69.5 – nearly two full strokes lower.

Six major winners will compete in the tournament, as Mike Weir, Trevor Immelman, Ben Curtis, Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard and Davis Love III will all tee off on Thursday at Disney. An entire look at the field can be found at the PGA Tour's official website.

Luke Donald, last year's champion, will not participate in the event this year.
