Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

Florida A&M, FGCU and North Florida are among the local college basketball teams in action on New Year's Eve.

Though no major conference area teams are in action on New Year's Eve, there's plenty of college basketball action around the area to get excited about. Teams will be in action all day, starting with Florida A&M's showdown with Texas Tech at 1 p.m. and extending into the night.

Florida A&M Rattlers vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders at 1 p.m. ET

A third consecutive major conference foe for Florida A&M could send the Rattlers to their third straight loss, or the Rattlers could pull the upset over the Red Raiders.

Lipscomb Bisons vs. North Florida Ospreys at 4:30 p.m. ET

Unbeaten at home, North Florida will aim to protect home court against the Atlantic Sun's Bisons, coming off a six-point loss to the Memphis Tigers.

Stetson Hatters vs. Mercer Bears at 4:30 p.m. ET

Stetson couldn't keep a turnaround going against UCF, but with 11 days off, can they grab their fourth win of the season against Mercer?

Florida Gulf Coast Eagles vs. Kennesaw State Owls at 5 p.m. ET

FGCU will get a chance to run its record to 9-5 against a Kennesaw State team that only has one win on the year.

Northern Kentucky Norse vs. Jacksonville Dolphins at 7:15 p.m. ET

After suffering a blowout loss to the No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers, the Dolphins will try to get back on track at home against NKU.
