Florida A&M Rattlers baseball coach Willie Brown has been accused of sexual harassment from a former player. How serious are these allegations?
Florida A&M Rattlers baseball coach Willie Brown is at the center of sexual harassment accusations by a former player, according to St. Clair Murraine of the Tallahassee Democrat. A former Rattler walk-on infielder, Vanard Williams II, in a complaint filed on Nov. 20 accused Brown of berating him for being overweight and having "the worst body he's ever seen."
Brown has been suspended from his duties with pay while this situation is ongoing, confirmed by the university last week. They declined to provide details about the case, citing a state law that allows such information to be withheld during an active investigation.Brown's attorney, Steven Andrews, has come forward with a sworn statement, signed by 12 FAMU players, who refute Williams' statement.
Andrews has also said that Brown wants to return to his duties as coach of the Rattlers, impressed with how the team has rallied around him in this time of crisis:
"His kids came in and they rallied around him," Andrews said. "The only way that he would consider going back was the way his kids stood up for him."
