US PRESSWIRE

Injury to Lewis adds to Tampa's secondary woes.

Tampa Bay defensive tackle Roy Miller (head), cornerback LeQuan Lewis (knee) and running back D.J. Ware (illness) did not practice on Wednesday, according to 620 WDAE in Tampa. Wide receiver Vincent Jackson (calf) practiced but was limited. Miller and Jackson are starters on the team depth chart. Lewis is listed as a backup cornerback, while Ware is listed as the third-string running back. The status for all four players remains uncertain for this weekend's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Lewis suffered his injury late in last Tampa's Sunday loss to the Broncos. Greg Schiano told reporters on Tuesday that he was awaiting test results on the severity of the injury.

Lewis's injury is one of many that the Bucs have suffered in the secondary this season. Cornerback Anthony Gaitor, who has missed all season due to a hamstring injury, is set to make his 2012 debut against the Eagles. Veteran Ronde Barber, who moved to safety in the offseason, has been forced to play cornerback in the nickel defense.

Tampa Bay (6-6) will face an Eagles (3-9) team that has lost its last eight games. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday.
