Stay connected for news and updates

One of the league's best teams, the San Jose Sharks visited the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Thursday night but the Lightning escaped with a 6-5 overtime win. It was a thrilling back-and-forth game and the finish matched the prior 64 minutes of play.

Steven Stamkos added two more goals to his league-leading mark, scoring his 38th and 39th goals of the season. Stamkos added two assists for a four-point game. Martin St. Louis matched Stamkos with a two-goal game of his own, including the game winner with thirty seconds remaining in overtime. St. Louis took a feed from Victor Hedman for the upset home win. The Lightning now host division-foe Washington on Saturday night at the Forum.
