The Florida Gators had their 3-game winning streak snapped, losing 73-62 to the Georgia Bulldogs.
The Florida Gators had their 3-game winning streak snapped this evening by the Georgia Bulldogs, losing 73-62 at the Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. The win was a big upset by the Bulldogs, as Florida had dominated them in recent meetings, winning 15 of their previous 17 encounters prior to today's victory.
The Bulldogs, who never trailed in this game, were led by Freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's 18 points and Gerald Robinson Jr.'s 15. The Gators were plagued by poor shooting throughout this contest, managing to only hit on 37% of their field goal attempts while Georgia made 53% of theirs. Florida was paced by Bradley Beal's 19 points while Erving Walker added 14.
This loss dropped the Gators overall record to 22-7 and 10-4 in the SEC. Coach Billy Donovon's team will look to rebound Tuesday night and hold on to the 2nd spot in the conference standings when they travel to Vanderbilt to face the Commodores.
