Kentucky Vs. Florida, 2012 SEC Semifinals Final Score: Gators Go Down 74-71 To Wildcats

Stay connected for news and updates

The Gators once again started out aggressive in the second half of the game against the Kentucky Wildcats after surrendering the lead right before the half, taking the lead back in the game. The Gators couldn't hold that lead however, as Kentucky pushed the tempo and was able to pick up some points in transition and force a turnover, taking the lead midway through the second half and a big shift in the momentum of the game.

After Kentucky took a lead, a massive dunk by the Wildcats changed the tone of the game as Florida just seemed to have the life ripped out of them by the jam. Fortunately for Florida, Kentucky went cold shooting the basketball and the Gators were able to go on a bit of a run and get back within two-points after a Brandon Beal shot.

The teams kept it close in the final minute of the game, trading fouls back and forth, but freshman Marquis Teague drilled his free throws late in the game to seal the 74-71 victory and advance to the SEC Championship Game.

Of course at the end... Kentucky fans trolled Florida fans with their mini-Gator chomps.
