NBA Standings 2012: Heat Standings Update

The Miami Heat enter tonight's game against the Orlando Magic at the American Airlines Arena with a record of 32-11. Despite setbacks this past week against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday and Chicago Bulls the following evening, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and the rest of the Heat still have a very impressive record at this point in the season.

With 23 regular season games left to play for the Heat, they currently hold a comfortable four game lead over the Orlando Magic (29-16) in the Eastern Conference's Southeast Division. Miami is neck and neck with Chicago for the top spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings, trailing the Bulls by only three games. The Heat have two games left this year with the Bulls (April 12 and April 19), so their is still time for them to gain ground and attain home court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. Miami also has the third best record in the entire league at the moment, behind only Chicago and the Oklahoma City Thunder (33-11).

Heat Vs. 76ers Recap: Miami Holds Off Furious Second Half Rally For Six-Point Win

The Miami Heat withstood an incredible second-half comeback by the Philadelphia 76ers to snap a two-game losing streak and pull out an 84-78 win at Wells Fargo Center. The Heat had led by a whopping 27 points after the first 24 minutes but the 76ers would charge back in in the second half as the Heat went ice cold, with quarters of 12 points and 15 points. It was one of their best halves of basketball followed up by their ugliest half of the season.

LeBron James led the Heat with 29 points, including 18 in the first half alone. LeBron also grabbed seven rebounds and dished eight assists in the effort. Dwyane Wade was cold from the floor, hitting just six of 16 attempts but that didn't stop him from having a triple-double. Wade finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

It was a big win for the Heat, who will now host a rejuvenated Orlando Magic team in a Sunday showdown at American Airlines Arena. The Magic beat the Heat in overtime earlier this week.
