Justin Rose held off a hard-charging Rory McIlroy and playing partner Bubba Watson to win the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral's Blue Monster Course on Sunday evening. Rose shot a two under 70 to finish at 16 under par, one better than long bomber Watson, who sprayed the ball all over the course after two straight dynamic rounds. in the 60s. Rose bogeyed the final hole at Doral but he still locked up the one-shot win against the best field in a tournament to date this season.

McIlroy, who won last week at the Honda Classic in Palm Beach to become the No. 1 ranked player in the world, put on a hard charge on the back nine to make Rose sweat it out behind him. The Northern Irishman had a birdie and an eagle in two of his first three holes on the back nine, but the deficit was too much to make up, especially as he had to take risks which resulted in two more bogeys. Perhaps the biggest news on Sunday, however, was the withdrawal of Tiger Woods, who walked off the course on the 12 hole citing a left foot injury.

Tiger Woods was forced to withdraw from the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral on Sunday during his final round, citing a left leg injury. Woods was seen favoring his left leg on several shots on the back nine of his final round. He was first seen flexing his knee after his second shot on the 10th hole and withdrew after a 321-yard drive on the 12th at the Blue Monster Course. Woods issued a statement through Chris Reimer of the PGA Tour and, as one might expect, it was curt.

Tiger issues statement on WD: "Left leg injury." That's it. That's the whole statement.

After a blistering final round of 62 last week at the Honda Classic, Woods was not in contention all week at Doral and did not have a birdie during his final round before dropping out on the 12th hole. With the Masters just three weeks away, there will be plenty more on the health status of the game's most popular player in the coming days.

Bubba Watson shot a 67 on Saturday to extend his lead over the field TPC-Blue Monster at Doral, Fla. After 54 holes, Watson has a three shot lead over England's Justin Rose and fellow American Keegan Bradley.
With many players shooting low scores earlier in the day, Watson had a great deal of pressure on him to get out to a strong start. He did just that, scoring an eagle on the first hole and following that up with a birdie on the second. Watson is now 17 under par with the final round looming tomorrow.
Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods both had strong rounds, shooting scores of 65 and 68 respectively. Both are part of a group of six players tied for 8th at 9 under par.

The find round of this tournament is on Sunday.

American Bubba Watson recorded nine birdies and an eagle Friday on his way to shooting a 62 at the TPC-Blue Monster at Doral, Fla. Friday. The round left the American one shot ahead of England's Justin Rose and two ahead of Australia's Adam Scott entering the weekend. Rose nearly matched Watson shot-for-shot, but settled for a 64, while Scott fired a more pedestrian 68.
Tiger Woods is one of a group of six players tied for 15th after he followed up his even-par 72 with a five-under 67 on Friday. Phil Mickelson also shot 72 on Thursday, but could only manage a one-under 71 on Friday, which left him in a tie for 34th place with eleven other golfers.
The tournament resumes Saturday.

The second round of the WgC-Cadillac Championship at Doral kicks off early on Friday morning, and the television coverage is the same as it was on Thursday. You can find five full hours of coverage starting at 1 pm on the Golf Channel.
The groupings are still the same as they were for Thursday's first round, but the tee times have been flipped around. So the Tiger Woods-Nick Watney-Sergio Garcia pairing will be out on the course at 11:40 am. The other feature group, Rory McIlroy-Lee Westwood-Luke Donald, tees off at 12:50, meaning that you'll be able to catch most if not all of their round on Golf Channel's coverage.
Adam Scott, one of the leaders after round 1, tees off at 12:20 pm with Hunter Mahan and Phil Mickelson. The other leader Jason Dufner tees off early at 11:30 am with Miguel A. Jimenez and Hennie Otto.

Jason Dufner and Australian Adam Scott sit atop the leaderboard after one round at the WGC-Cadillac Championship. Scott and Dufner opened the tournament with matching 66s, to lead by two shots a six under par. Scott opened the front nine with an eagle and a birdie, as the Aussie looks to build on his phenomenal finish to 2011 and round into form before the year's first major in Augusta.
Dufner, last year's hard-luck loser at the PGA Championship in Atlanta, did not have a bogey until the 18th hole, laying waste to the famed Blue Monster at Doral. Charl Schwartzel and Thomas Bjorn are two shots off the lead at four under.
Featuring all of the top 50 players in the world, and after last week's fireworks on Sunday featuring Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, many were looking to Doral as the highlight tournament of the season's first quarter and a potential preview of a showdown at The Masters. Woods, along with Phil Mickelson, is six shots back at even par. He had an up-and-down round with four bogeys, an eagle, and two birdies. McIlroy said that he came out "flat," and is one over heading into the second round. The good news for these superstars is that they're still well within contention and the leaders can quickly come back to the pack at Doral.

The 2012 WGC-Cadillac Championship gets underway Thursday at Doral and it features all of the top golfers in the World going head to head. You can find all of the tee times at the tournament's official website, but here are some of the featured groups. You can watch first round coverage of the tournament on the Golf Channel starting at 1 pm ET.
The most notable round 1 tee time does features the newly crowned No. 1 golfer in the world Rory McIlroy teeing it up with some of the other best played in Europe in Luke Donald and Lee Westwood. That's three of the top five golfers in the world right there. They tee off at 11:50 am.
Tiger is in a group with Nick Watney and Sergio Garcia, not a bad tee time by any means, but it doesn't have quite the star power of the McIlroy group. They tee off at 12:40 pm on Thursday. Phil Mickelson will be playing with Hunter Mahan and Adam Scott at 11:20 am.
An under the radar group that should provide some excitement (although it's hard to call two top-10 golfers under the radar) is Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and Charl Schwartzel. Day and Johnson can absolutely pound the ball and Schwartzel is a former major winner who has one of the absolute best swings on tour.
