On Friday night, the Tampa Bay Rays looked pretty comfortable against the American League-leading Texas Rangers, cruising to an 8-4 win. But on Saturday night, they couldn't hit Colby Lewis, who kept the Rays' bats at bay, allowing just three hits and one run over the first six innings.
Tampa Bay never did get going at the plate, but Texas did and knocked in four runs during the bottom of the seventh inning to cap off a 7-2 win at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
The Ray's starter Jeff Nieman performed rather admirably, giving three runs and three walks over five and two-thirds innings. He hasn't pitched more than six innings in any start this season.
The loss ended Tampa Bay's six-game winning. The rubber-match is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN.
