The Boston College Eagles will be advancing to the championship game of the NCAA Division I men’s hockey tournament after they pounded the Minnesota Golden Eagles 6-1 in the 2012 Frozen Four semifinals on Thursday night.
Eagles junior goalie Parker Milner stole the show with 30 saves. The only shot that went in his net was Golden Gopher senior Jake Hansen’s at 1:26 of the third period. The goal was the first Milner has let in in this year’s tournament.
Boston College also relied on their prolific scorers which were on full display as the Eagles scored six goals in this game. Although the Eagles appear to have won handley by a lopsided score, the score wasn’t necessarily indicative of how their opponent played.
Minnesota was simply robbed by Milner. Don’t forget that the Golden Gophers had 31 shots on goal. It was no fluke that this happened. Most of their offensive chances were legitamate, and probably would have gone in if it wasn’t for the goalie on the other end.
Boston College will face Ferris State on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the NCAA Men’s College Hockey Championship game.
