2012 Players Championship Score Update: Martin Laird Holds Early Lead On Friday Morning

The first round of the Players Championship is in the books, and the leader board might not look exactly what some might have been expecting heading into the weekend. Martin Laird and Ian Poulter were tied at 7-under after the first round, and through four holes, Laird is even in Round 2. Poulter will be teeing off later this afternoon.

Jonathan Byrd is making a pretty nice charge so far in his round, he is 2-under through his first four holes and is now just one shot back of the leaders.

After finishing his round at even par on Thursday, Rory McIlroy birdied the first hole he played on Friday morning to get back into red figures. Tiger Woods has yet to tee off on Friday after finishing his round at 2-over par on Thursday.
