AC Milan and Chelsea are confirmed and scheduled to play a friendly at Sun Life Stadium on July 28th.
Chelsea FC have finalized and set their summer tour schedule through the United States at the end of July. The Blues will make a stop in South Florida to wrap up their tour, matching up against AC Milan on July 28th in Miami. The game was initially rumored to be part of a doubleheader with DC United vs. Juventus at FedEx Field just outside Washington, DC, but the Redskins could not coordinate with all four clubs and the Chelsea match was moved to Miami.
It's the first trip Chelsea have made to the South Florida region, while AC Milan has played another friendly in the past against the Colombian national team. The game will be at Sun Life Stadium, with kickoff set for early evening at 6:00 p.m. ET. With the Redskins dropping the ball, the Dolphins were all too willing to swoop in and arrange the friendly, via Michelle Kaufman of the Miami Herald:
"Miami is a soccer hotbed," said Mike Dee, CEO of the Miami Dolphins. "This announcement continues the tradition of bringing world-class events to our facility."
