Proposed SEC, Big 12 Matchup Could Affect Conference Bowl Hierarchy

The college football postseason landscape is on the verge of a major change, as reports are indicating a four team playoff may soon be introduced. In light of this news, the SEC and Big 12 have agreed to pit the champions of each league against each other, according to a report by Tony Barnhart of CBS. The ever-evolving postseason scenario could alter conference bowl hierarchies, as well. Via Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com's Gator Nation:

Currently, the SEC has nine bowl affiliations, with the Capital One Bowl falling number two on the list of SEC bowl games and the Gator Bowl sixth on the list.
