Heat Vs. Celtics, NBA Playoffs 2012 Game 1: Miami Tied With Boston After 1st Half

The Miami Heat are tied with the Boston Celtics 46-46 after one half of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat came quick out of the gates but Boston put together a strong second quarter rally to pull even after 24 minutes.

The Heat took control early by completely taking Boston out of it on the offensive end. The Celtics scored just 11 points in the first quarter. Meanwhile, on the other end, it was MVP LeBron James on the offensive end who consistently got to the rim where the Boston bigs could not match his powerful finishes. James scored 13 points in the first quarter alone, and after an extended rest to start the second, he finished the half with 17. Mike Miller, who came off the bench and drilled two three-pointers, is miami's second-leading scorer with eight points.

Boston stormed back in the second quarter, however, cutting the Miami lead from 11 to 2 in a matter of minutes. Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen started to warm up and the offense came alive. Pierce hit a late three to cut the lead to two at 46-46. After a late review, the referees also took away a Joel Anthony put-back that came right as the shot clock expired. As a team, the C's scored 35 points in the second quarter which was the first time Miami allowed a 30-point quarter this postseason.
