After failing to close out the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, the Miami Heat return to American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night to try and close out their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal against the Knicks.
The Heat have been pouring over Sunday's film to find out just what went wrong in their 89-87 loss to New York. The loss included 11 missed free throws, 16 missed three-pointers, a pair of blown double-digit leads and a 19-2 run at the end of the third quarter.
There has never been a team in NBA history that has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit and Miami does not want to be the first. Part of that will be putting pressure on Mike Bibby, who will most likely start at point guard for the Knicks. Bibby hit a key three-pointer to give the Knicks the lead with 1:23 left in the fourth quarter. The Heat will also have to contend with Amare Stoudemire, who played effectively despite lacerations to his hand that he suffered after Game 2 in Miami.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start with a national broadcast on TNT.
