College World Series 2012: Florida State In Search Of First-Ever National Championship

Stay connected for news and updates

The Florida State Seminoles entered the NCAA baseball tournament as the No. 3 overall seed, and they've won every game they've played thus far. This is FSU's 21st trip to the College World Series -- more than any other team in this year's field -- but they still haven't won a national title.

The Seminoles opened tournament play in the Tallahassee Regional, where they beat UAB (2-1) and Samford twice (8-1, 5-2) to move on to Super Regional play. They then hosted No. 1 seed Stanford in the Tallahassee Super Regional. Florida State's offense exploded, knocking off Stanford in the first two games, a pair 17-1 and 18-7 victories, to earn a place in Omaha.

Florida State is 48-15 on the year. They open up CWS play against No. 1 seed Arizona on Saturday. Their side of the bracket also contains No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 Stony Brook.
