Stay connected for news and updates

The Florida State Seminoles (48-15) will continue their quest for the program's first-ever NCAA baseball championship as they open College World Series play against the Arizona Wildcats (43-17) on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

This is the sixth matchup between Florida State and Arizona in the College World Series. They last met in the 1986 championship game, which Arizona won 10-2. Lefty Brandon Leibrandt (8-2) will take the mound for the Seminoles, and he'll be facing off against Arizona's Kurt Heyer (12-2). Both teams are No. 1 seeds, undefeated in NCAA tournament play.

The winner of this game will play the winner of No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 Stony Brook. The losers from both games will face off in what will be an elimination game. All CWS games will be on either ESPN or ESPN2. They'll all be available online at ESPN3.com.
