We're one week away from the Opening Ceremonies in London for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Swimming will highlight the first week of the games, while the track and field events will dominant the second week in London. There will be four medals up for grabs at the aquatics center on the first true day of competition, getting things started right awe on Saturday July 28. On the track, the Men's 100 meters is set for Sunday, August 5 and will certainly be one of the most-watched events over the course of the two weeks.

There are a host of native Floridians representing Team USA in a variety of sports this year. Jenny Simpson, Kerron Clement, and Tony McQuay are three stars to watch in track with Florida connections. Clement is one of the top hurdlers in the world, and he'll run the men's 400 meter hurdles on Monday, August 6. Simpson is the World 1500 meter champion, and she'll look to build on her success at team trials with a medal showing in London. As you would expect, there are also plenty of Floridians on the sailing teams participating in London, including Brian Faith, Sarah Lihan, Mark Mendelblatt, Trevor Moore, Paige Railey, Zach Railey, and Anna Tunnicliffe.

These are just some of the names to keep an eye on with a week to go before the games officially open in a week.
