London Olympics 2012: Jake Kaminski Finishes 18th In Archery Ranking Round

Jake Kaminski of Edgewater, FL had a long road to his first Olympics since winning the National Championship in archery in 2005, but the 2012 London Olympics kicked off for Kaminski on Friday morning in the men's individual ranking round.

As a team the United States archery team earned a first round bye after finishing in fourth collectively, and Kaminski earned a spot in the next round of play with Friday's 18th best performance among individual men. The finish earns Kaminski a relatively easy start to his tournament play as he will face a archer that finished much lower than himself in the ranking round.

Kaminski was quick to get to his Twitter account after finishing:

Im Dong-Hyun, a legally blind man of South Korea, leads the field after breaking the world record for points with 72 arrows.
