The second day of the 2012 London Olympics is in the books and after two days of strong competition, China barely leads the United States in the medal count.
China currently holds the lead with 12 total medals to the United States' 11. China has six gold, four silver and two bronze while the U.S. currently has three gold, five silver and three bronze, with most of the United States medals coming in the pool.
Americans holding gold medals are Ryan Lochte and Dana Vollmer in swimming and Kimberly Rhode in shooting. Lochte also has a silver medal along with fellow swimmers Allison Schmitt, Nathan Adrian, Elizabeth Beisel, Ricky Berens and Kelci Bryant in diving.
