2012 Olympics Women's Gold Medal Volleyball Match: United States Falls To Brazil, 3-1

At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the United States women's volleyball team fell to Brazil in the gold medal game by a final score of 3-1. Four years later at the 2012 London Olympics the two teams would meet again with a strikingly similar result as the U.S. once again fell to Brazil in the Olympic final by a final score of 3-1.

The United States took the first set in the match by a score of 25-11, but the Brazilians dominated the game thereafter going 25-17, 25-20 and 25-17 in the next three sets en route to the gold.

Plantation, Fl. native and Stanford alum, Foluke Akinradewo scored 11 points in the match (eight spikes, three blocks).
