Tampa Bay begins the series as the No. 1 wild card in the American League.
The Tampa Bay Rays have been beating up on the bottom dwellers of the American League of late, winning six in a row against the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins. They will face another inferior opponent on Monday when they take on the Seattle Mariners.
The series begins on Monday with Alex Cobb (6-8, 4.32 ERA) facing off against Blake Beavan (7-6, 5.12 ERA). The Rays have Beavan twice this year, experiencing mixed results. On May 2, they knocked him out in the sixth inning after he had given up five runs. However, on July 22, he went eight innings and gave up one run for a win.
Monday's game begins at 10:10 ET and can be seen on Sun Sports.
