Jacksonville's offensive line was already beginning to thin out with injuries, and that thinning might get worse if left tackle Eugene Monroe's injury is, in fact, a concussion.
Monroe suffered the injury in practice Wednesday after getting hit in the head, and left the field on a cart. Thursday, it's still not clear what the injury was or whether it will affect Monroe's availability for Fridays' preseason game against the New Orleans Saints. The former No. 8 pick is the incumbent starter at left tackle.
The offensive line was supposed to be a strength for the Jaguars with five starters returning. But with Will Rackley out with a high ankle sprain, backup guard Jason Spitz out for a month, and backup center John Estes out for the season with a knee injury, the offensive line is beginning to look ragtag. This has to be of concern to Blaine Gabbert, and also can't be enticing when dealing with Maurice Jones-Drew, who is still holding out.
