Eugene Monroe Injury Update: Jags OT Still Not Practicing

Stay connected for news and updates

Jaguars left tackle Eugene Monroe is still not practicing with the team and seems unlikely to play in Jacksonville's Week 3 preseason game on Thursday night against the Saints. It had been reported days ago that Monroe was traveling with the team but unlikely to play after suffering a concussion last Wednesday during practice.

Tyson Alualu, who recently made the switch from defensive tackle to offensive tackle, is expected to start in Monroe's place. No official timetable for Monroe's return has been set, but keeping him out of Thursday's game is a precaution considering this is a head injury and Monroe hasn't practiced in almost a week.

The Jags have seen their fair share of issues on the offensive line, with injuries to Will Rackley (high ankle sprain), guard Jason Spitz (foot injury) and center John Estes (knee injury)
