Mularkey said this of Branch at his press conference:
"He's been playing pretty well. He's really playing well and really done very good in the run game as well. When you have guys that come off the edge with some speed you always have concern about the run game whether they can hold up against the big tackles and things. I think for being a rookie and being thrown right into this starting lineup like that I think he's done really well. Ithink he's going to just keep getting better. Joe Cullen, we call it setting an edge, kind of basically try to contain the offense. In order to do that you've got to win the one on one against the tackle and I think he's held up pretty well. I think he will get better at it as well. You've seen George Selvie do it. George has basically pushed the tackle back into the running back in the back field and Andre is heading that way.
Jacksonville spent a second round pick on Branch, selecting him with the No. 38 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Branch was a first team All-ACC pick with Clemson in 2011, recording 77 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
