2012 London Olympics: Former Gator Track Star To Compete For Gold In The 400m Hurdles

Former University of Florida track & field star Kerron Clement placed fourth on Saturday in the first heat of the men's semifinal of the 400m hurdles event at the 2012 London Olympics. In the first round of competition, Clement finished second with a time of 48.48 seconds

Clement qualified for the gold medal round with a final time of 48.12 seconds which is a seasonal best for him. His personal best in the event is a time of 47.24 seconds which he set in 2005, the summer in which he turned pro.

A decorated athlete and no stranger to Olympic competition, Clement competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics where he won a silver in the 400m hurdles and gold as a member of the 4x400m relay team.
