Stay connected for news and updates

The Miami Heat re-signed guard Terrel Harris to a non-guaranteed deal on Monday, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Harris appeared in 22 games for the Heat last season as a rookie out of Oklahoma State, averaging 3.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 14.5 minutes of action per game. Harris also played in four games for the Heat during their playoff run, which resulted in the NBA championship.

With Harris' signing, there are now 16 players slated to report to camp for Miami. This will force the Heat will have to cut least one person before the start of the season on Oct. 30 against the Boston Celtics. Harris' main competition for one of the final roster spots will be big men Mickell Gladness and Jarvis Varnado, who signed non-guaranteed contracts last week.
