Jaguars CB Rashean Mathis Getting More Snaps

Stay connected for news and updates

Rashean Mathis was a big question mark heading into the season after he missed the final seven games last year with a knee injury. The Jaguars have gradually increased his workload to ensure a healthy comeback. In the first game he saw 19 snaps, but that was bumped up to 40 against Houston.

For Mathis, everything feels good so far this season, according to The Florida Times-Union.

"The knee has responded well to everything," Mathis said. "Not setbacks, which is great. I played more plays than I did the previous game so it’s a positive."

Through two games, Mathis has three tackles and one pass break up.

On Sunday he will be facing the Indianapolis Colts. It was against them last season that Mathis suffered the injury that ended his season.
